Sea Pebble Dragon Shark

Yay! Mah Entrant for 's contest, I'ma happy.

You swim down a little bit more to an oncoming sea cave, knowing that your oxygen tank won't last very much longer. You took a big breath to save the last bit of oxygen, and swam a few strokes down to observe if this cave had any secrets. You where astonished to see an odd sea dragon family!

The mother was the only one awake out of them all, it looked over your way, you hid on the side of the cave, though you weren't exactly hidden. The mother dragon stared at you and growled, you guessed it didn't like me near her babies. But you couldn't help to curiously watch this family. It's wings where wing like, but it was more of a giant shark fins. The saphire blue shine to them really caught your eye. The fact that they have gills really ment that they were just big fish, like a shark, and like a dolphin, probably jumping out every so often. By looking at their claws, You wouldn't think that they are freindly carnivores either.
It was time to go back, your oxygen levels were reducing. You sprang from the sea floor and swam your way up to the surface and caught the edge of your boat. Your boat driver, Liam, asked you: "Well? Did you find anything? Or, Saw something?" "....Nothing."


This is my mini 'creation'. It's between a sea dragon and a shark... pfft. I shouldn't have mixed the two... Not good imagination. Meeh, oh well, I took a fairly long time, not in days and breaks, more like EACH AND EVERY HOUR, WORK ON it. Olol.

This species is called the Sea pebble DracoShark. They live in the depths of the ocean, living on the same part of the foodchain with sharks. They nest and breed in caves that have some sunlight so it is easier for them to wake up. They are part fish, part mammal, as they have gills, but need sleep. They eat alot of smaller animals, varying from common Sea Bass to even baby sharks or the fasted of them all- Sailfish. Speaking of speed, their wings can stretch and tilt to easily move around. Their wings can flap incredibly fast for living under the sea, as they can travel to almost 80kmph. It has a long memory, almost as intelligent as a 13 year old. So it can remember where it lives, what is easy to catch, and if possible, tricks. They often do jump out of the water for family fun, or even spotting nearing strangers, such as boats.
When they breed, they will stay in the save spot for about 5 days, waiting for the eggs to hatch, as it's too dangerous to leave eggs in a cave on their own. Ofcourse, they would catch a heavy wadge of fish and kill them and leave them in the cave, so they don't need to worry about them getting hungry. When they hatch, they would be taking short circuits around the home with their parents to get used to swimming, but that's it. One of the parents would go to hunt more fish for the babies so that they also won't be alone. Parents stay with their babies until they're about 6 months old, that's when they start to get alot bigger. But in the mean time, they would soon trust them to go out and hunt for a bit when they do get bigger.
These fish/dragons can grow up to a size of 7 metres long, due to their incredibly long tail, actually, their tail can be seen curled up when they're laying down for a bit, as they have alot of muscles in that tail. They also grow up to a size of 4 metres high, almost usually a 3rd of your house size.
Their name is given by the pebble like structure of the smooth flabber like scales, and also for the fact that pebbles are usually blue.
They live around europe and America, which is basically around the near north. But they do ocasionally visit the south side at times. They usually like slightly cooler places, as their skin does get sunburnt at times!
